Colour Correction

Had the honor of doing the Color Correction for DOUBLES WITH SLIGHT PEPPER at Deluxe in Toronto today. Unfortunately, in a movie there are slight variations in how each shot looks. It could be due to the movement of the sun/clouds. Or maybe it just doesn’t look "right".

Color correction is the art of changing the image to suit your artistic & technical needs. Deluxe is completely professional place and they did an amazing job on my film. Of course, there are ways to fix colour in Avid and Final Cut Pro. However, the depth, range and quality done by a pro doesn’t even compare.

It makes such a HUGE difference to the film – it feels unified. It looks polished. It is polished.

The Canadian Press Conference

Today was the big Canadian Press Conference where they announced all of the Canadian films that will play at this year’s festival. It was so cool to meet so many amazing filmmakers and hear about their work. Lots of food with a Canadian theme: poutine & smoked meat sandwiches.
