Bringing It Back!

The day after winning the Genie Award for Best Short Live Action Drama, we spent some time with the actors that poured there hearts and souls into this film for all to see. We had a celebratory dinner with Errol Sitahal & Susan Hannays Abraham, who both starred. All we were missing were Sanjiv Boodhu, who played the Son.

Great memories were made as we hung out and reminisced about the making of the film and caught up on our personal lives. Felt so amazing to be able to show the actors something tangible that their work had been recognized for. Terrific actors and equally terrific people.

WE WON!!!

DOUBLES WITH SLIGHT PEPPER won the Genie award last night for Best Live Action Short Drama. No words can express the immense pride and gratitude we’re all feeling right now.

We shot this film less than a year ago and I can’t believe the incredibly journey it’s taken us on. Simply amazing.

Here We Come Canada!

Sent out exhibition DVD’s and Blu-Rays to begin the Canada’s Top Ten tour and also for addition to the Film Circuit which brings Canadian & International Films to communities across Canada that wouldn’t otherwise get to see them. We’ve got screenings in Edmonton AB, Salmon Arm BC and North Bay ON already lined up.

Such an amazing feeling to know that people all across the country will get to see the film that we worked so hard to get made. Very gratifying.

Never thought I’d be able to say it, but I truly understand the words: It’s just an honor to be nominated.

We were on Trinidadian TV this morning

On TV6’s Morning Edition, Jason Harnarine (Producer) made an appearance with The Trinidad & Tobago Film Company’s Rudolph Hanamji where they talked about the film and the state of the industry in Trindad.

Excellent Writeup

Norman Wilner wrote a wonderful article on the Canada’s Top Ten Shorts screening happening this Sunday (1/8/2012) at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto.

"In contrast to some of the Top Ten features, nothing about the shorts feels safe. These are filmmakers working at their peak, experimenting with form and texture – shooting the works because they might not get another chance, and delivering. "
