A Dissertation About the Film!
When we made this film, no one had any clue just how far it would reach and to whom. We’ve been very fortunate with audiences, festivals, writers and journalists. And now academics! Here’s the first dissertation (yes, dissertation!) based on the film by Francesco Nacchia, in Naples.
It’s an interesting read (all 143 pages!), particularly as the author does a visual analysis of the film and attempts to translate all of the dialogue into Italian. The paper is titled and will be published soon : Trinidadian English Creole, Hybrid Identities and Tasty Food: Audiovisual Translation and Multimodal Analysis of “Doubles with Slight Pepper”
